Testimonials and reviews

Reviews of London Myriad’s Debut CD ‘FOUR.’

“This album is a delight… The music is sprightly and lively, even in the slower sections, and quite jolly…. Entertaining throughout.”

Jeremy Condliffe (Review Corner)

“The four in FOUR are formidable musicians, impeccable technicians. Music that is now lyrical, now outrageously humorous, and blessedly unpretentious. Out of this world!”

Rafael de Acha – (Music Notes)

“Marvellous music in convincing performances…[which] always satisfy the listener’s interest”

John France – Music-Web International

Concert Reviews:

“In December, the ‘London Myriad Ensemble’ performed a tremendous and rarely heard programme of works for wind quintet and were joined for the majority of the recital by Japanese pianist Yuki Negishi. The ensemble brought a myriad of gems through their riveting and diverse performance to the Rudolf Steiner House Theatre near London’s Regents Park. Their ensemble playing is a treat to hear and a true example of the challenges and joys of chamber music making”

Gregers Brinch on behalf of International Concert Series 2014/15

“I was very impressed by the high standard of their musicianship. They conveyed a sense of enjoyment in playing together resulting in an enthusiastic response from the audience”.

Bridget Bather, Chairwoman of Croydon and Purley Music Circle

“The ensemble’s performance was excellent and was presented in a very informative and interesting way”

Francesca Hanley of the Centre for Young Musicians – Morley College London

“One of the most accomplished, best organised and well-motivated chamber ensembles…they were a real joy to work with”…”A group which is surely destined to be a leading UK chamber group in years to come”

Laurence Perkins of the Manchester Camerata

Coaching-

Each of the Myriad players has been able to improve our playing as well as helping us to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the music in our repertoire. We have always been amazed with the way each member of the Ensemble has an immediate intuitive grasp and feel for each of us as individual players, whilst picking up on what we should be aiming for as a complete musical ensemble. Each member adapts to all the genres with such ease and professionalism. As well as working really hard, we have such fun, with a great sense of achievement and a resolve to put into practice all we have learned, and of course we always look forward to our next get-together with Myriad at Benslow!

Jennie Fletcher – Clarinet

The “Myriads” are perfect tutors for this course. Excellent at “reading” what is needed by each group and focussing advice and tutoring accordingly.
